Top 10 Bald Basketball Players (2022 NBA Games)

To be honest, if you looked like any of these bald basketball players, would you consider going bald? If so, you’re not alone; many NBA players are going bald in order to boost their game on the court, and it seems to be working! The best part about going bald, especially for an athlete, is that it does not have to compromise your looks one bit. These top 10 bald basketball players prove that it’s possible to be in great shape and look good with a shaved head.

Some people say there is no such thing as an honourable mention in sports, but I disagree! It’s important to honour the best players in each sport even if they didn’t make my top 10 list. In basketball, there are many really cool players who just didn’t make my top 10 because they didn’t have a shaved head when they played.

1.) Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is probably the best basketball player ever! And if you’re bald like me, then you’re lucky because he’s also the coolest! He played for 15 years and won lots of games! And if you want to be just like him when you grow up, you need to practice shooting hoops every day!

Michael Jordan bald basketball players

No words are needed here. There’s never been a more recognizable bald basketball player, and he’s still one of history’s best-known athletes. But why did Michael Jordan shave his head? Rumor has it he went bald in order to win a $100 bet with teammates—when an opposing player apparently made fun of his receding hairline during a scrimmage at North Carolina. His late father, who was murdered when MJ was in college, also went bald early on and sported a similar-looking mohawk style for most of his life before dying in 1993 from heart problems at age 51.

2.) Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Kareem Abdul Jabbar was a really good basketball player. His favorite team was the Lakers. One day he got tired of having hair so he shaved it off. When he played with the Lakers he won many games and awards like when he got to be an All Star 19 times!

If you want to be impressed by a bald high school basketball player, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is your man. An American treasure, Jabbar went from Lew Alcindor in high school to an Olympic gold medalist and 6-time NBA champion as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He’s also got several other accomplishments under his belt, including being one of only 3 players to achieve over 30,000 points in their career. To top it all off, he has a pretty epic name too!

3.) Kobe Bryant

This guy is really tall, and he has no hair. He used to play basketball for the Lakers, and he was really good at it. I think he’s still playing basketball now, but not with the Lakers. He had lots of different awards when he played basketball like MVP which means Most Valuable Player. He’s been in lots of movies too!

Kobe Bryant bald basketball players

Kobe Bryant may be one of Hollywood’s best-known basketball players, but he’s hardly alone. As a matter of fact, many people have heard that professional basketball players seem to have very high incidences of premature balding. Many think it’s because they shave their heads for games and often find themselves spending long hours practicing outside or under harsh stadium lights. Whatever your take on that theory is, there are a number of famous NBA players who can relate to Kobe in terms of going bald in his 20s. In addition to Kobe, other famous bald NBA players include Michael Jordan and Jason Kidd.

4.) Shaquille O’Neal

Shaq is a very big person. He has been on TV for many years because he’s very good at basketball. He has been voted into the hall of fame twice! He has also been voted as an all-star many times.

Shaquille O’Neal bald basketball players

It’s hard to find a bald basketball player more successful than Shaquille O’Neal. This 1.83-meter giant is one of only two players in history to win a NCAA championship, an NBA championship, and an Olympic gold medal. He also scored more points than any other player in his league during his career. His baldness had nothing to do with his professional success: though he did shave his head from time to time during his playing days, he was already balding by age 15.

5.) Karl Malone

Some people say Karl Malone is the best basketball player who ever lived! Karl Malone played with lots of teams, and he scored more points than anyone else in the whole world! One time Karl Malone’s team won the World Championship and then Karl said I’m tired, so they let him stop playing basketball for a while.

Malone is one of only five players in history to have scored more than 30,000 points in his career. He averaged over 25 points per game during a 15-year career with Utah, and he played a large role in helping turn that franchise into a powerhouse during his time there. Malone also ranks 10th all-time in terms of games played and was elected to both 12 All-Star teams and three All-NBA First Teams. He even won league MVP honors after leading his team to an NBA Championship back in 1997. If that’s not enough to make him one of the most recognizable bald basketball players on the planet, we don’t know what is. … And it turns out he shaved his head for religious reasons!

6.) Kevin Garnett

Kevin Garnett played for six different teams in his 20-year career. Known as one of the best power forwards to play the game, he spent 14 years with the T-Wolves, leading them to their first playoff appearances and keeping them relevant during those years. He was then traded to Boston where he spent five seasons with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen before heading back home. In Brooklyn, he helped seal up a title with Deron Williams before returning home one last time to spend his final few years playing for Minnesota again after having always been there through the good times and bad.

Although West Virginia native Kevin Garnett is known as a pretty angry dude, he’s also famous for his bald head and tattoos. From 2003 to 2008, Garnett appeared on four All-Star teams and won an MVP award, making him one of only a handful of players in history to accomplish such a feat while being a member of an NBA team that had two different coaches over that time period. Another notable accomplishment? Being one of just three men in league history to win at least 15,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,500 assists. (The other two are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone.) What does he think about going bald? I embrace it, said KG.

7.) Charles Barkley

If a bald basketball player can be sexy, then why not go bald yourself? In Charles Barkley’s case, going bald seemed to work out. During his playing career, it was well-known that he liked being called The Round Mound of Rebound. But Chuck got himself into trouble when he said about Asians on ESPN Radio: I’m not saying I don’t like Chinese people. I like all Asians. But they are inscrutable, and you want to know why? Because they’re some strange (expletive) man. Ouch! It seems that Charles could have used some advice from Tim Duncan before his comment hit the airwaves.

8.) Jason Kidd

One of my favorite bald basketball players is Jason Kidd. In his prime, Kidd was a lightskin basketball player who was a great defender and had a knack for passing. The thing that makes him unique is that he played in both all-black and all-white jerseys, depending on what team he was playing for at the time. With all of his success in Oakland and New Jersey, it’s weird to think that he could have also been one of Miami’s Big Three! Luckily for Knicks fans, J-Kidd fell through when Pat Riley tried to sign him back in 2010.

9.) Gary Payton

Payton started going bald in college, but that didn’t stop him from pursuing a long and successful career as an NBA player. Payton was on four different teams in his NBA career. He won an NBA Championship with Seattle and was an eight-time All-Star during his time in professional basketball. Payton ended up making over $100 million playing for various professional basketball teams. Go see yourself taking on balding basketball players if you don’t believe it!

10.) Vince Carter

Vince Carter bald basketball players

Of all of these bald basketball players, Vince Carter is probably one of the most recognizable names. The Toronto Raptors standout spent 17 years in the NBA and played professionally overseas before retiring in 2016. In addition to playing for Team Canada in multiple Olympic Games, Carter has also been a part of multiple All-Star teams and led his team to an Eastern Conference Finals victory against Allen Iverson’s Philadelphia 76ers. He may have retired from playing in the league, but he’s still doing great things for charities that are important to him—and you can’t say that about many current professional athletes!

Bald people have been known to be really good at basketball. There are lots of them in the NBA because they have been scoring lots of points. And guess what? The best players ever who have scored the most points ever – like Michael Jordan – were also bald!

We found out that many pro bald golfers win more games and bald basketball players turned out famous, which led us to believe that they all had what it takes to dominate in their sport.
